Open Mic Day 2009
Our very first Rage Open Mic event was a great success! There were lots of drop-in performers, including a slide guitar player and a crooning Metalhead who gave us a little of 'Springtime For Hitler' from The Producers. A core group of players arrived at 2pm and helped solicit participants while cranking out there own music until 7pm! Check out our Facebook page for more pics (search Rage Store).

Bake Sale!
On the 26th of September we had our first bake sale! It was tonnes of fun, we sold a fantastic variety of nutty sweet goodness. Our good friend Heather showed up with some delicious cake balls, so between the 4 different bakers there was some fantastic surplus. Thanks everyone for coming by and buying our baked goods!

Toronto Alternative Fashion Week, April 2008
Thanks to all the models (Jane, Vanessa, Gwen, Yuliya, Jenn, My-Anh, Dee, Alli, Taz, Sara) for marching in favour of Toronto Made Style!! We had an unforgettable time, the last collection closed with a dance party on the catwalk.......check the YouTube video in the media section!

Sick Sound Syndrome
This crew threw down 3 times in front of the store in May and June 2008! They're Toronto based and go waaay beyond what you'd expect; these guys serve up hip hop, jungle, drum and bass,. jesus, whatever beats' around, they're hittin' it RIGHT. http://www.myspace.com/sicksoundsyndrome Man, I hope you guys make it back........

RageKaraoke 2007
Now established as a biannual event (June and September), The Rage ‘Karaoke Sale’ draws the most interest of anything we do! It runs an entire weekend; everything in the store is %15 off, but if you sing and then buy, you get an additional %5 discount!

Rage DJ Event, September 2007
We rented the gear and let some of the hottest indie rock djs in town loose on the system.......Jenn of No Guff, DJs Search and Destroy, Pascal of White Hot Nights/Don’t Be Shy and Lawrence of Kensington Station fame. So fun, so hard to keep the volume at a reasonable level : )

Art Mannequins, January 2008
We had some plastic mannequin torsos that were ready for the garbage, but then what about using them for a craft project instead? Reno created an ode to the French Revolution, Camille went button crazy, and I played with Cinderella. They’re safe inside now, above the entrance to the store.

Counter Art
It’s annoying to deal with merchandise in this area, so we turn it into the most fun conversation piece ever! The first was done in 2006, using random Barbies, dinosaur skeletons, whatever. Last year we got closer to a theme; toys and books reminiscent of childhood (Sweet Valley High, Roald Dahl, Nancy Drew). This year it’s club-themed, with a break-dancing Jem doll and all!!

Fitting Room Installation, February 2008
The Rage loves Pop Culture, so it decided to use the pages of an original edition ‘Valley Of The Dolls’ paperback as a foundation for Rage visitor sketches, musings and proclamations!

May-Jun Skateboard Art, February 2007
She’s a skateboarding, singer-songwriting, photographing, painting, sewing phenomenon. May-Jun’s creative work is tireless, engaging and full of fun, and that’s exactly why we love displaying her celestial tortoise themed broken skateboard art!

Rage Reading Event, August 2007
We gave away a free piece of literature with every sale over $25! Rage friends sat outside and read the entire first ‘Babysitter’s Club: Kristy’s Great Idea’ out loud to passersby. Next year we’re going to have a mic, and I think we’ll read Roald Dahl.

Tiff! Live, July 2007
This girl is a Rage regular and super talented; Kensington is the perfect location for a casual acoustic performance. We look forward to supporting more new local talent this way in future.
